Naum Flower is a certified organic cut flower & floristry business based in North Oxfordshire, and a floral design studio in Marylebone.
At Naum Flower, we grow the most ravishing cut flowers as the foundational elements of our creative and innovative floral design, with the goal of connecting our audience to the rhythms and beauty of nature. We grow our own flowers using methodology of the regenerative agriculture movement. Our goal is to change the way people view flowers, from just decoration to a powerful way to connect with the life giving power of nature.
Our work includes arrangements in a range of scales, from bouquets to installation work, with an expanding clientele list - from private clients, luxury brands, to retail environments and restaurants. Our clients are between Oxfordshire and London. We are committed to a holistic approach in floral design with soil health & sustainability underpinning the work that we do.
We are looking for a highly creative and hard-working florist, with comprehensive professional experience, who shares our values, to join our team as Senior Florist.
The position is full-time with a three-month trial period.
Job Description
The Senior Florist will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Naum Flower at our studio in Marylebone including:
- Managing and executing our routine commitments, including contract flowers, London floristry, delivery, client-liaison, budgeting
- Managing and executing our event flowers; including floristry, project-management, sourcing, installation, costing & budgeting, moodboards & proposals, client-liaison & managing freelancers
- Develop our style of floristry under our founder’s creative direction and sustainability ethos
- Developing content and photography for our website, socials, and portfolio
- Working closely with our Founder & Director/ Head Grower & other Senior Florist based in Oxfordshire
- Working with seasonal flowers, grown in our cutting gardens
- Planning and executing floristry related workshops
Person Description
- You should be an unflappable, positive, ambitious, highly responsible and well-organised person who can manage their own time and others, with a clear career path in floristry.
- You will be efficient, professional and have a great work ethic.
- You will need to be physically fit and able to manage the often-intense physical demands of the role as well as flexible hours to adapt to clients’ requirements around installation times which are often out of typical business hours.
- Equally you will enjoy collaborating on projects and sharing leadership where a team approach is required, as well as being able to take clear direction from visual briefs from our creative director. This role also includes hiring and managing freelancers as needed for larger jobs.
- The role would suit someone who would thrive working in a small team, who has the get go to work independently and who can bring their own personal impetus and passion for floral design to the role.
- The studio is based in our London offices and temporary workspace, we are currently looking for a retail space for our design shop with flower studio space in the basement in Marylebone. This person must stay closely connected to a working cutting garden and be working with seasonal/ local materials. You must love the outdoors; you will be expected to pick flowers or forage for the arrangements on occasion as needed so you must be physically fit and up for rolling your sleeves up and mucking in.
- Due to the nature of the industry, you will need to have a flexible approach to working hours – weekend and evening working will be required as demanded by floristry events and orders; early mornings may be required for picking flowers dependent on the weather.
You will need a full clean UK driver’s licence and experience driving a van.
