Set of Butter Dishes

A set of 6 Leedsware butter dishes. These delicate creamware pots feature relief moulded flower handled lids and twisted handles. Leedsware was known for its intricate floral motifs.

Leedsware emerged in Leeds, England during the late 18th century as a refined form of cream-colored earthenware. Developed in response to the popularity of Chinese porcelain, Leedsware was renowned for its quality and gained popularity in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
