THE IKEBANA BOWL
Regular price£80.00 Sale priceThe ikebana bowl can be paired with the L Kenzan Frog for sculptural arrangements that emerge from a still pool of water. Or use this bowl to float ornamental blooms that would otherwise be chucked if they have snapped off their stems.
We have designed our vases with the perfect four forms, dimensions and weight for the maximum versatility of flower arranging, to take you through the seasons. They are glazed with a pale 'Chun' glaze, the recipe includes ashes from burning apple wood. The body is a mixture of French and native British clays, reduction-fired in a large downdraft kiln in Hoxton, London. This collection comes from a tradition of Anglo-Japenese ceramics, a post-war cultural exchange between England and Japan where two long histories of craft became inextricably interwined.
Troy Town is a pottery for artists. It was established by Aaron Angell in 2014 and has hosted over 70 artists in residence since then. Troy Town is also the home of Hoxton Gardenware, a youth-led manufacturing initiative teaching local young people to produce and retail artisanal terracotta garden pottery. All of these vases have been thrown by Aaron Angell himself.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand made item and therefore each item is unique. Small variations in color, texture, size, and shape should be expected.
